A very clever use of apt-get (build-dep), I've never thought of that before I'm ashamed to say. Works like a charm, thank you.

Good find Martin.

I checked each of the recommended/sample .cnf files that come with the Solaris Coolstack 1.1 version of MySQL and, in each case, the "safe-updates" setting is turned off (commented out) by default.

However, what is strange is that one of these sample files has a line above the commented out setting saying, "Only allow UPDATEs and DELETEs that use keys" but all of the others say, "Remove the next comment character if you are not familiar with SQL".

In any case, enabling this setting was a simple matter of commenting out the "safe-updates" setting the /etc/my.cnf and restarting MySQL.

Jing records audio while it records the screen, so you can do a simple voiceover. I don't think you can add the voiceover later though.

[...] Martin Murphy linked to an interesting bit of spouting by a Nokia exec on how the Nokia N95 walks all over the iPhone. I won’t get into the feature race debate but will say that having both devices I know which device I’d rather carry around and it isn’t the N95. [...]

That is fascinating. And unless the initial transport fails it should lessen the chances of one small error ruining the whole mission.
